Obama Cabinet official: Americans are children...
The last we heard from Steven Chu, Barack Obama’s Secretary of Energy, someone had to explain to him that oil policy fell within his "domain". Now that Chu has apparently mastered what exactly energy means, he now wants to act as a parent to recalcitrant Americans who stubbornly insist on making their own choices in life. The Wall Street Journal reports on Chu’s attitude towards the role of government, and especially his condescending attitude towards the governed: McChrystal: More Forces or 'Mission Failure' The top U.S. and NATO commander in Afghanistan warns in an urgent, confidential assessment of the war that he needs more forces within the next year and bluntly states that without them, the eight-year conflict "will likely result in failure," according to a copy of the 66-page document obtained by The Washington Post. Changes Have Obama Rethinking War Strategy "Until I'm satisfied that we've got the right strategy, I'm not going to be sending some young man or woman over there -- beyond what we already have," Obama said on NBC's "Meet the Press." If an expanded counterinsurgency strategy in Afghanistan contributes to the goal of defeating al-Qaeda, "then we'll move forward," he said. "But, if it doesn't, then I'm not interested in just being in Afghanistan for the sake of being in Afghanistan or saving face or . . . sending a message that America is here for the duration." Obama open to newspaper bailout bill The president said he is "happy to look at" bills before Congress that would give struggling news organizations tax breaks if they were to restructure as nonprofit businesses. Sunday Obamathon Turns Into Media Critique; Says Press is Perpetuating 'Rude' Behavior "I think it's important for the media, you know - not to do any media-bashing here - to recognize that right now, in this 24-hour news cycle, the easiest way to get on CNN is or Fox or any of the other stations, MSNBC is to say something rude and outrageous," Obama said on CNN's Sept. 20 "State of the Union." "If you're civil and polite and you're sensible and you don't exaggerate the-bad things about your opponent and you know, you might get on one of the Sunday shows. But you're not going to be on the loop. And, you know, part of what I'd like to see is all of us reward decency and civility in our political discourse." [EDIT] Civility, there is that word again, what's your take Pelosi? Breitbart a conservative rebel with a cause "Andrew is doing what all journalists should be doing: Seek the truth, expose the truth, stand for the truth and bring it forth to the public. Without fear. I say that Andrew is an American hero," actor Jon Voight told The Washington Times in an interview. House moves to extend unemployment benefits A bill offered by Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Wash., and expected to pass easily would provide 13 weeks of extended unemployment benefits for more than 300,000 jobless people who live in states with unemployment rates of at least 8.5 percent and who are scheduled to run out of benefits by the end of September. They came to Defend Freedom -- The Great March on Washington, D.C., It was a march into history that proved patriotism always trumps politics. 1.7 million ordinary Americans flooded Washington, DC to defend their country. I had never before in my life witnessed anything like this - much less participated in it. At that moment I realized I was about to become a part of history. After the Tea Parties, what’s next? A modern king-in-his-own-eyes now commands an army of liberal lemmings who are trying to ram their power-grabbing agenda down the throat of unwilling Americans. On April 15, nation-wide Tea Parties said "no!" Then, on September 12, Tea Parties in Washington, and across the nation, said "Hell no!" What to do If You Are Forced to Take Swine Flu Shot Homeland security and FEMA are pushing for forced vaccinations and the medical experts, virologists and epidemiologists are calling for calm and resorting to voluntary vaccination only. The former have links with the vaccine manufacturers via political contacts. A great deal of money will be made by the manufacturers, should forced vaccinations be mandated Swine flu 'could kill millions unless rich nations give £900m' UN report says pandemic may result in anarchy unless western world pays for antiviral drugs and vaccines. The disclosure will provoke concerns that health officials will not be able to stem the growth of the worldwide H1N1 pandemic in developing countries. If the virus takes hold in the poorest nations, millions could die and the economies of fragile countries could be destroyed. Jimmy Carter’s Record on Race Carter pledged to invite Alabama’s infamous segregationist governor George Wallace to Georgia if elected. He once said he was "proud" to have the equally segregationist Lester Maddox as his lieutenant governor following the 1970 election, calling Governor Axe-handle "the essence of the Democratic Party" (which he was). Obama asks N.Y. governor to step aside The New York Times quoted a senior Obama administration official as saying that the proposal that Paterson be asked to step aside came from a White House political adviser but was approved by the president. Obama Waist-Deep in ACORN Corruption and More ObamaCare Atrocities While the ObamaCamp and many Democrat (aka New Marxist) "leaders" continue to desperately search for hiding places from the latest outing of ACORN as an organizational nut that is rotten to the core, Obama continues to remain mum on the issue. But, then Obama has been at least waist-deep in ACORN’s corruption for almost two decades. And what might actually come from both the US Senate and House of Representatives calling for a real investigation of Obama’s ACORN? Possibly nothing. There is every indication that the Dictator-in-Chief may veto any and all requests for investigations. Palin emerges as Facebook phenom While Palin isn’t the only major political figure to try alternative means of communication to bypass the media, her unique ability to remain in the headlines while avoiding the spotlight suggests she may be the first to pull it off successfully An inconvenient truth about global warming The global warming narrative - that mankind's addiction to burning fossil fuels is rapidly changing the climate - may be about to go seriously off message. Far from suggesting the planet will get warmer, one of the world's leading climate modellers says the latest data indicates we could be in for a significant period of steady temperatures and possibly even a little global cooling. Democrats to Obama: Um, what exactly are we getting for selling out Poland to Russia? You’re getting the same thing you got when he sold out Honduras to Chavez over that non-coup "coup" they staged: The warm fuzzy glow of knowing that George Bush would heartily disapprove. But some members of Obama’s own party, however, had a simple question for the administration: if this was a return to realism, and a concession to Russia’s long and vocal opposition to the missile program, what, exactly, was the U.S. getting in return for fundamentally changing it? And almost certainly, the answer leads back to Iran. SEIU head: Anti-American teabagging extremists need to elevate their discourse; Update: DNC promises "rain of hellfire" on critics DNC spokesman Hari Sevugan said: "The message to opponents of change who would lie or misrepresent the truth should be clear. We are going to respond forcefully and consistently with the facts, and you will no longer be able to peddle your lies with impunity. Through tools like ‘Call ‘Em Out,’ you will be met with a rain of hellfire from supporters armed with the facts and you will be held to account." [EDIT] Hmmm...and what happened to their pro-ObamaCare rally on 9/13 that was suppose to outshine our 9/12 protest? They need to learn that true Patriots are in greater numbers than they seem to think. Taxpayer Funded Serve.gov Filtering Activists to ACORN The Obama Administration has placed a large premium on what it calls national service. It has launched a website, www.Serve.gov, that is reported to act as a clearing house for Americans eager to give back to their communities. Unfortunately, Americans looking for an opportunity to volunteer may get something they weren’t expecting. By typing ACORN into the search field entitled What interests you at Serve.gov, you’re transported to allforgood.org where you can choose from a list of volunteer opportunities, including healthcare activist. This particular volunteer opportunity is with the Tuscon ACORN office: New Government Policy Imposes Strict Standards on Garage Sales Nationwide Americans who slap $1 pricetags on their used possessions at garage sales or bazaar events risk being slapped with fines of up to $15 million, thanks to a new government campaign. Obama Sells Out the Liberated Nations of Eastern Europe Obama sold out Israel to Islamic terrorism, Obama sold out Honduras and Columbia to the Marxist regimes of Cuba and Venezuela What is next for the Middle America Rebellion of 2009? "Getting hundreds of thousands of kids, the professionally unemployed, and government workers to show up isn't that hard [especially if someone buys the bus tickets]. Getting two million middle-class, middle-aged people with jobs, careers, children and businesses is way, way more impressive. Obama helps strengthen General Electric-Putin ties Shortly after the pullback on the shield programme was announced, Russia's government said Prime Minister Vladimir Putin would meet several U.S. executives on Friday from firms including General Electric, Morgan Stanley as well as TPG, one of the world's largest private equity firms. GE CEO Jeff Immelt sits on Obama's Economic Recovery Advisory Board, and GE owns MSNBC, the network famously friendly to Obama. Obama Didn't Lie! - He Just Didn't Tell The Truth Obama: "Legalize illegals to get them health care" Obama: "...this debate underscores the necessity of passing comprehensive immigration reform and resolving the issue of 12 million undocumented people living and working in this country once and for all." Republicans said that amounts to an amnesty, calling it a backdoor effort to make sure current illegal immigrants get health care ACORN Considers Ending Voter Registration Work Community-organizing group Acorn said Thursday it was considering quitting its voter-registration work amid a growing political storm over its activities, a move that could hurt Democrats at the polls.
